Hillary Rodham Clinton, Game Of Thrones And The Hoon

Without Prejudice

The news was great this morning. A dignified Hillary Clinton running for President. Is that not surreal ? A woman running for President of the most powerful country in the world. Will things be different with a Woman in charge? I like Obama and I thought Bill Clinton ( apart from his personal problems ) a fair leader. His wife has certainly been through her own set of challenges. But she states becoming a Grandmother has " speeded her up " rather than slowing her down. 67 and ready to take on the world.

The next series of Game Of Thrones was downloaded about a gazillion times in just three hours overnight. Five episodes leaked onto the Internet. The show is phenomenal. It's popularity attributed to blood, old fashioned violence, power and sex. What is not to like? My Sister ploughed her way through the books. Quite an achievement considering each one is a doorstop thick. My grandson Jai, was devastated when he had to wait until the next year for Season Two or Three.

I watched it when I was in Queensland with my older brother. He was devastated too. I loved it and thought it was fresh and new. Killing off a main character half way through was virtually unheard of. And John Snow a great characterisation. And the White haired girl with the Dragons. I could go on and on. All the rules of normal drama thrown out the window. Trust the Brits to get it right. The BBC dramas cannot be bettered ever.

And the news for Australia. A 20 year old Hoon is caught in Yatala, doing doughnuts. He is charged with a myriad of petty crimes including urinating in Public. Ya gotta love Australia.

UPDATE: The driver of a car that crashed and caught fire during a high speed police chase in Yatala last night has been charged.
Police will allege that the Holden Commodore evaded them on two occasions and continued at high speed along Stanmore Road.
The vehicle later collided with a pole and flipped on its roof.

From The Police Web Site
EARLIER: Three people were injured last night after an alleged hoon tried to evade police before crashing in Yatala.
Police were conducting a covert hooning operation with the assistance of the helicopter about 11.15pm when they spotted a car driving dangerously on Stanmore Road.
Police closed in on the vehicle after it drove into a small residential street and pulled over.
As police arrived in the street to stop the vehicle, the Holden Commodore sedan allegedly drove onto the grass curb and around a police car to evade them.
The Commodore then allegedly evaded police a second time when an officer stood on the roadway and asked the driver to stop.
The helicopter continued to track the Commodore as it continued along Stanmore Road at high speed, allegedly travelling through a red traffic light and almost crashing into another vehicle.
The vehicle then crashed into a pole, flipping the vehicle onto its roof before catching on fire.
The 20-year-old male driver and a 17-year-old female passenger suffered shock and bruising.
A 19-year-old male passenger suffered a broken neck.
All three were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a non-life threatening condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
