Strong Women, Soft Men
Without Prejudice
We are supposedly building a generation of Strong women and Soft Men.And no one is benefitting. Sadly women and men have become confused about their roles. Women don't want to be seen as "Strong" . We are by our very nature nurturing, soft, feminine, loving, protective. The gatherer of Hunter Gatherers not the Hunter. Men by their natures are the Hunters. When did the roles become reversed ? Is it a backlash to the feminism of the seventies ?
If no one is benefitting, are we able to change it ?
Men these days can be Metrosexual without being conceited about it. Strong without being arrogant. We women should be able to be feminine in the best possible way. Femininity not feminism our greatest asset. We look to the males in our lives to lead, make decisions of benefit to all. To Hunt the wooly Mammoth and bring it home.
My Happily married older Sister, says her husband of forty odd years brings home the bacon and she cooks the bacon. He has heart and backbone, just like his Father and his Father before that. A traditional male role model. Strength inside a velvet glove. Women need that traditional make in their lives. If there is ever a disaster, women scurry with the babies and children, looking for the men to be the protectors.
I know so many single Mums who struggle with having to be both parents. Having to work as well as raise kids and feeling guilty ALL the time. I also know so many men embittered by divorce who are denied the right to see their kids. The Mother being seen as the better care giver just by the fact she is female. That's a lot of poppycock as so many men are very capable at taking care of their children.
