I'm sitting on a Beach
Without Prejudice
I'm sitting on a beach near Bribie, the temperature is 30 degrees Celsius and my baby sis is inside fetching us both water with ice and lemon. A little doggie sits at my feet and occasionally I throw him a stick and he comes back quickly panting. The sun is beaming down and my body feels warm, lightly oiled and it's about as close to heaven as you can get.
I've had a bad virus right up to flying and I thought I'd have a hard time shaking it off but its gone. My case lies inside and this time I decided NOT to overpack. Ipad, mobile phone, one sweater, 3 bikinis, one onepiece, tanks, sewing kit, medications, pretty dresses I can wear with sandals, shorts, tees, gauzy tops, underwear, make up, perfume.
Seems about right !
This time I'm looking for something a bit permanent as I want to stay up here for the entire Winter and family can come to visit. It's a differenet world up here and the rat race and the city seem so far away. Here there birds of every variety, a Pelican, gulls, terns can walk by looking at you beadily with their black eyes, filled with curiosity.
Across the way is Tangalooma, just a green lozenge shaped island with a big sand slide down one side. The city of Redcliffe lies to the right and Bribie Island to the left. Helen returns with the drinks and we clink and study the horizon.
