Skinny Girls Club---- Tips For Winter

Without Prejudice

Winter is a time when it's a struggle to maintain your weight loss. We all love comfort food and we simply are not as active as we are in Summer. There is nothing nicer in Winter than reading a good book or watching our favourite shows while we listen to the cold rain drumming on a tin roof. Heaters not only dry out our skin but make us sluggish and lazy.

I keep my heater turned off as much as possible (I used to live with a fit Irish soccer player, who was always hot in more ways than one ) and learned how to cope with sub arctic temperatures. I keep my heater adjusted to lower than the twenty two temp that the manufacturers recommend as being cold burns calories and still drink lots of really cold water. It not only also burns calories but keeps your skin hydrated. Keep a bowl or tray of water for humidity in your lounge room or bedroom topped up with water if you get really dry skin, it helps, heaps.

I recommend wearing a body shaper slip, one size too small,  all winter as well, under whatever you are wearing. It tricks the mind in to believing you are one size smaller and is a constant reminder to not over eat. I take a Vitamin D supplement in Winter, too, like Ostelin. Anyone losing weight will double their weight loss by taking Vitamin D, (so they say,) anyway and it can't hurt.

You do not have to obsessively weigh yourself everyday. You will be able to tell by the fit of your clothes, especially with your bra, as the breasts are the first to be impacted by weight loss, but don't worry if they turn into shrunken heads from Papua New Guinea, the fat redistributes itself eventually. Also don't worry about other people saying you look gaunt. The fat in the face redistributes again as well, inside of twelve months. I learned to love my cheekbones and feeling bones instead of fat.

Stay positive and look forward to Summer, pin up photos or prints of Summer and on your dream board or wish board pin pix of Summer clothes and other incentives such as bikinis, one pieces, sandals, cruises, swimmers, surfers and be realistic. You will not be Twiggy, only Twiggy is Twiggy and she has the metabolism of a race horse, naturally. The rest of us have to work at it. I found rather than join a gym like celebrities or hire a personal trainer, ( and lets not forget they can afford it and personal chefs.) Also it's their job to look great, a big incentive, I however am cheap, so decided to move a lot, do lots and lots of projects and just keep on the move.

Most celebrities, a personal assistant said, a few years ago,  are on the C diet, anyway. Not a diet any of us can afford nor want, but for them, desperate times call for desperate measures. We are not trying to impress the world of our fabulous bod to gain screen roles so we can be a lot more reasonable. C will make you strip off weight like stripping off wallpaper, anyway, so unless you know a handy dealer of the Columbian Marching Powder you won't be able to match them. And it's like $400 a gram, anyway. And is addictive. Same with diet pills which will make you shitty livered.

Do it yourself, it all comes down to a lot less food and a lot more movement. Learn to be a fidget, fidgets are constantly moving, keep moving, eat less, love yourself first and you will succeed in losing weight and keeping it off. As ever don't try and tempt yourself, you will always lose, no one has that much will power. As Dr Phil says, will power is not practical. i work at home and will open the fridge ten times a day, eagerly looking for a treat, keep it empty of treats and stocked with lots of fruit,

if you are working full time by the time you get home in traffic you will be ready to eat your fingers off, have things in the fridge or cupboard that you can snack on until dinner is ready. pita bread oven toasted and kept in an airtight container spread with a little peanut butter, hummus, tahini, gherkin spread, light Philly will help, a small plate of cucumber, tomato and dry biscuits is like a treat and healthy. I also keep some diet coke in a bottle as a treat. Having treats to hand will stop you from bingeing.

Stay focused and keep going, Summer is coming back again with its warm days and sultry nights and believe me you will feel fabulous if you are spending them in a great little dress floating around you.

Have fun and stay healthy,

Love Janette
