Spring Has Sprung

Without Prejudice

We all know, Spring is here, three of us have Hayfever, and have to try and stay indoors with the windows and doors shut. As soon as you go outside, the minute you go outside, you sneeze, cough, eyes stream. I first had it about twenty years ago and my old Boss told me what it was. I felt like I had the flu and wanted to skive off work for the day.

He laughed in my face and said,
"Listen here, Bruckshaw, it's Hay Fever not the bloody flu."

He was always really good to me, Josef, and let me go home, anyway. A big half hour, early. If I didn't have to sometimes do it for money, I'd never sit at an office desk again and that's the truth. I can't sit still and always have to be moving. Since when is it ok to sit at a dek for forty hours a week, feeling your arse, spread ?

I'd rather be at home, run a business from home and write and help look after a Family of kid and grandkids. I was in a big house and I hated it, so lonely, even though I had boarders, family members, staying. One day I sat down and thought,
"I miss having a Family", I'm from a big family, my daughter is only 40 and has 7 boys. She's always has boys hanging off her somewhere, she comes out here to the unit to get away from them, but they follow her. She then said get a unit in the backyard and I did. It's perfect, just enough for one or two.

At the moment we have a little game addicted 8 year old, that needs to go to bed at 8.30 and he's sent to bed in here. One of his brothers escorts him the 15 feet or so to my front door. He's sweet, timid and softie and we need to try and keep him in routine. He holds a special place in my heart this one, he was premmie and nearly didn't make it. At 4 and a half pounds and 5 weeks prem he had to have an operation within two days of birth.

I love all the doctors and nurses that took care of him at that time. Monash Hospital became our destination every day for 10 days. I knew he'd make it.
