Cranbourne like Broadmeadows, Frankston, Sunshine gets a bad rap as a neighbourhood. Just because we are not upper scale suburbs on thonights news said that the "poorer" suburbs are great places to live. Better than the richer suburbs, some of them. Closer community spirit, more volunteers, more watching out for your neighbours.
Working Class and doing it tough creates a Community Spirit and apparently we are closer to our neighbours. That's true, Yvette's lived in this house 7 years and I've been here 2 and we get on great with all neighbours. Next door, the longest tenant is Keith who lost a son two years ago. And his partner left him this year taking the baby she so wanted.
He's always great to us. Always helps out with a car problem. On the other side we have a moving house of two single Dad's with a veritable moving circus of kids and mates and partners, new and ex. They helped us out last year with a "Nut Job" ex, who had escaped and wanted to see his kids.
Yvette can usuaually handle all her problems herself, but it was Christmas Eve and he was "Iced", so Yvette called me and I called the Police, he went nutso at the front door and the men next door took him off and calmed him down. He sold them some ecstasy I think or something, so the "lads" were quite happy. They also said for "ex" not to come back.
