A lone kayaker paddles on Moreton this morning, enjoying the peace and quiet, the birds, the water and the complete feeling of freedom. It's his world of beauty alone this morning. He's at one with nature. Its a mans Paradise, fishing, diving, swimming, kayaking, yachts. The yachts sail once a week from Caloundra I thing which is about 20 minutes away by boat. Driving takes 3/4 an hour.
The whole of Moreton Bay is a Marine Park and stretches from Caloundra in the North to South Stradbroke. I've stayed at a house on Straddie which had a 360 degree view of the Bay. One shop, cmaping only or you have to have a house there. Access is by Ferry only. Its a wonderful place to chill and relax. No noisy traffic, one shop, a lake that is absolute heaven to swim in and just good old Aussie bush everywhere.
Even Caloundra is too busy for my taste, the whole of the Sunshine coast is stunning but I like the quiet little back waters of little traffic, no high rises and lots to do. I love to swim, fish, ski and snorkel. I want to do the diving course and swim with the fish and look at the artificial reefs, (but then there was shot of a reef ball with a shark in it ) so maybe not.!!! But there will be places where you can and there are tours, diving tours, you could take.
