Escaping The Melbourne Winter

We are staying in Queensland for the winter. Renting a house which I have found already and Y and I will have winter with the boys in the Sun. Boys that are meant to run, swim, snorkel and surf. Boys that otherwise would be stuck indoors for the next 4 months or longer. That's not healthy for boys.
Y my second oldest daughter and I have discussed it for years. Get the boys out of Melbourne firstly for both of us winter brings on Winter Depression and secondly the boys are growing fast and need the room, quite seriously to stretch out and expand.
We discussed it for months before I came up. A plan, a simple plan. I would go first and find us a house. She longs for Gold Coast I said no. I love the Gold Coast to visit, its sun in winter, the surf pounding at Greenmount or Burleigh, but it's too commercialised for me to want to stay there with family.
Especially now that winters in Melbourne can last 6 months or so and seems to be so
