LOVE-The real deal

Without Prejudice

It's hard when you are hurt to remember the good times, so I put on Ted Mulry's Memories, from 1971, an old song, but it says it all, or Emmy Lou Harris, "The Ballad Of A Runaway Horse" and I remember.

The first glance, the first touch, the first talk, the first kiss, the first time you fell in love at first sight, all the "stuff" of which love is.

The true, honorable, lovely, admirable, excellent, worthy of praise "stuff", trust, friendship and all the little things.

You want to be a better person for that person and you are.

The wanting to see the other happy, the laughter at shared jokes, the music, it all becomes one big memory, perfect. A beautiful story, a tapestry of delight, flashes of light, illuminating the soul,

lighting on that memory, the first time coming together as one, and making it so tender and vulnerable as we are adults now and shy and trembling, and we leave ourselves open for once, to joy and beauty, hoping...

We strive to find commonalities, music, current events, kids, reading, creating, restlessness and nervous energy, competition and the desire to win, to be the best, the bravest, the strong.

We expose all our weaknesses, our hurts, laying our lives on the line, our trust, not wanting to be hurt again. The baggage we carry, the things others have done to us, forgotten, in that first time. And the purest love of all.....the unrequited.

In the unrequited we never have to see the dross, just the beauty, just for you and for him. The moon and the stars shine brighter and the ease of it all nudges at your spine forcing you to sit upright, stronger, and you take the love and memories with you, a perfect memory encased in amber, one day to be written of, but not yet, not yet.....Love Janette
